Ooooh, just remembered another great cock up we once made. We have supplied many of the pro football teams over the years and got asked to do a special mug as a presentation. A club had just had a new goalie and the Chairman wanted to give him a personalised mug for his first home game. He had a couple of away games already so we were sent photos from the matches. Had a great action shot of him making a save with his fellow players around him so got the job done and dropped off at the club. Presentation done etc and all went well...... or so we thought. It turned out that in a football match they have 2 goalies (shock) and we managed to pick the wrong one! This goalie ended up with the Nottingham Forest goalie photo with his name on a mug. Ooops. They did look very similar though and they don't wear the standard kit like outfield players so easy mistake to make. Chairman hasn't asked for any more favours though funnily enough.

I don't feel quite so silly now LOL
I now have 36 mugs here with the wrong year on as she didn't want them.
Karen, is the customer a regular, or someone you like? If the date is well past, rather than storing a useless carton of mugs, you might like to offer them to customer for the cost of freight, or free if they are local, to use as free give aways. If they don;t want to use them as current promo items, they could still give them to family if they are a small business or club, or staff, if they are a bigger business.

Just a thought. I still receive out of date calendars with 'here, these are old, but the picture is pretty'.

I did discuss it with her when we realised the mistake. I reprinted them at a reduced price, but she didn't want the incorrect ones (she had paid in full inc postage and wouldn't accept any of it back). It was for a well know 60s singer/group and she is the estate holder (his niece). They were printed for a rememberence event they were doing in his name. You never know if they repeat it this year then I already have 36 mugs mugs good to go.
