.

It's quite clear you dont have 'Supported' inks otherwise you would know about it - from the price alone, but you pay for the support. You would have had help setting your printer up and getting it running - rather than taking so long to get going as you did with Mark from Morcambe.[/QUOTE]

When left it was set up and working, it just wasnt used again for a while after the demo.

NO, you wont get into any trouble.
I was just trying to explain what I thought you were confused about.

Epson printers do clog the nozzles often because of the ink type (more like the liquid that is used to carry the dye) - the Ricoh use a Gel to carry the dye, and the nozzles are bigger so they tend to clog a lot less often - mine have never clogged and I dont use my Sub printer often as I still have not been able to open for business (waiting for Indian software developers to finish something for me).

I suspect you are going to either take a chance (and potentially waste money) by trying to mix another ink with your existing OR start again. flush and buy new ink.

As has been said, if you dont go the 'Supported' way at least make sure you have a regular supply of the ink you use - have several potential suppliers. the Sawgrass stuff is available from a few people (from the supporters of this forum - and with a discount for premium members) and if you have a problem Sawgrass will help you out (hence - Supported).

To be honest, the Sawgrass route is not that expensive.

Thanks for that. Would I just be able to buy another CISS system from say Sawgrass and start again but with same printer?

You could buy a cis from a Sawgrass approved supplier but to be honest if it was me I'd put no more money into a B1100. Not a particularly good printer and many, myself included have ditched them in favour of a Ricoh. Do you have to have A3?

Good point, for the same money as a CISS with ink for the B1100 you could get a new Ricoh A4 SG3110 with sublimation inks, new 12 month warranty and full support inc colour profiling. Worth considering if you don't do much/ any A3 printing.

It seems the 1100 isnt popular on this forum but 600 mugs in ( on this printer ) its never let me down yet.

Yes very easy - install printer, install cartridges, load up PowerDriver colour management software and print.

If you're happy with the printer, and how it works, you could buy some black ink and see if you're happy with the results compared to what you're used to, it may all be fine, and then you don't need to replace the lot. I doubt you'd have any problems technically in mixing the inks, just the colours may not be exactly the same, but could only be quite a subtle shift.

Sell the Epson as a working Sub printer, and buy a Ricoh (that's what I did).

They are very very easy to set up, no hassle at all.
