This is my thinking too - if it does the job well enough, and is cheapest, then that's what we'll go with.

I forgot to order mine as in my previous post but have been given some blue tape. This is not even a choice of colours but it seems to be working.
Many thanks
Iain

Don't try Green from Shanghai - from 'Thread Tools On Line' anyway - it has no stickiness at all so is useless.

Ear's the listing to avoid. ok, it's not expensive but that's not the point. Still waiting for my new 10mm Kapton tape to arrive :(

Seems all my posts are negative at the moment, but oh well.

I had brown tape to begin with, then ordered some clear stuff from Sublimetals with a tag order, and it's awful stuff, so something else for people to avoid. I print lengths of ribbon, using an A4 ricoh and 38x38cm clam press, so need to print in relatively short sections. Using this tape, the dye will transfer back off the substrate and on to the tape, leaving a pale stripe on whatever you're printing. So for now I have to make my designs around the fact that I can only stick tape to white bits lol, it's a pain especially when I'm doing the pet tags, as I don't like printing both sides at once (I just can't seem to get it to line up and stay lined up), but I can't stick tape over the already coloured side to stick it to the transfer paper for the second print. If that makes sense.

I'll definitely be going back to the brown when I place another order! Before I got this clear stuff and I'd run out, I used the same strips of brown tape about 20 times lol
Using Ricoh SG3110DN printer, Sublijet-R inks, and rubbish cheap heat press from Coralgraph!

I am happy to send you a reel of the Green - you might be able to use it.

Just PM me your address if you want it. at least it might help you out.

Hi Emily

hmmm, that's weird about our tape - I say weird firstly because we have never received a complaint about it before and secondly because I just happened to do some tags this evening and was experimenting doing the sides of the double sided tags separately, taping directly over the already pressed side and it worked fine. I also use it for all my other pressing (which it admittedly is not that often and mostly metal unsurprisingly, but when I run my sublimation training courses I also use it on all the other substrates) and I haven't had that issue. I will gladly look into it for you and also refund you for the offending roll you have , so you can buy some more brown!
The only issue i have with our clear tape is that it is quite thin, so often rolls up on itself if you take too long a piece off at once, but as I have had problems with the green and red leaving marks on fabrics in the past, so specifically asked an adhesive company to make a clear version for me and that was the best thickness they could do - and it has been quite popular and I sell lots of rolls to fabric printers who only buy that product from me, so I had assumed all was good!
As I said happy to investigate and refund, so I will drop you an email.
