I'm using the Sawgrass ICC.

Is it their inks you're using, in the printer model the ICC was made for?
What programme are you using to print from?
How is its colour management set up?
What monitor do you have - is this calibrated?

Yep its Sawgrass inks, and correct ICC from their site. I'm printing from Photoshop, and colour management is setup exactly as per the guides on Sawgrass support site.

Regarding the monitor, its probably not 100% calibrated, but these colour differences are extreme. Have been in touch with Sawgrass this morning, and sent them some samples to analyze, so hopefully get it sorted by the weekend!

If in PS, what do the colours on screen look like in Proof Mode with Gamut warning turned on?

the gamut warning greys alot of them out. I did think that it was a bit strange, but thought the printer/profile was supposed to adjust the colours to the nearest in gamut version?

the guys in sawgrass checked our settings earlier, and also tried printing the file at their end and said they weren't experiencing as extreme an issue. I've sent them a printout from our Epson, and a pressed coaster to show the issues, so when they receive that they can analyze the issue properly.

The printer/ink ICC will adjust the colours as much as possible, but it can only do so much. printing/ink in general has a lot less available colours than your monitor does, and specifically, sublimation inks are even worse. Some colours your printer just won't be able to hit. If you edit in proof mode, with gamut warning on, then you can push colours around yourself, so you can at least have colours that are printable - this works best if you have a calibrated screen so you know what you are seeing is accurate. Get a ColorMunki or Spyder - the cheap systems just do screen calibration, the high end ones also do print calibration. This way you can make your own ICCs specific to your own screen and your own printer/inks.

ye i'm beginning to realise how much hassle it can be now!! i just can't understand how such a wide range of colours can be out of gamut, but I'm gonna have a play around tonight and maybe try make a swatch of usable colours. We aren't trying to match specific spot colours or anything like that, so once i have similar shades that can be printed ok, then we should be fine.

The white one is a custom made icc for your reference. I am sorry but i cant remember of what printer this one was
