Ok, just read your initial post properly
I see you want A3, 7100 it is. I love the 1500 but really find the Ricoh so much easier to work with.

In MY opinion the Ricoh is so much less hassle, no paper loading and feeding issues/cleaning and so on. The support is invaluable and mine was swapped out soon after purchase with no issues whatsoever.
I feel it's one of those questions, Ricoh or Epson, Mac or PC, Vauxhall or Ford (that's an old one) and so on. I've tried several of these 'switches' not all work for me but it's worth a try. If you only need A4 the investment is far smaller.

I know what you mean with the Ricoh and Epson - I'm swaying more to the Ricoh .......

Iam on brother A3
huge carts, custom icc and printing maybe once a week at this moment. every time i switch it on is working from the first kick
nor heads cleans etc...
but i presume this would be the last option you would like to go with lol

I have had my Ricoh GX7000 for a fair number of years now and not had any problems with it whatsoever. I also have a back up A4 Ricoh that collects dust for the most part, but every month or so I switch it on and print a sheet to make sure my back up is working, and it does.
If you want hassle free small format sublimation printing then in my opinion there is only one choice, Ricoh and Sawgrass Carts.

Like Paul I have switched to the brother A3 printer which I obtained for £30 from Fleabay. Unsupported inks. I can only say that after the Epson 1290/1100/1400 experiences this is the most hassle free option I have tried on a low budget. The results are superb and no blockages etc. The gamut is superb and so the printer reliable and cheap to replace. Mind you I'm used to taking the heath Robinson approach to most things so (after experiencing the superb support from Sawgrass and city ink express) I wasn't too worried about taking the plunge. I did my own profiles but would recommend getting one from Paul once you are set up.

I am well, its just my customers that are a royal pain
This week I have transfer printed 3000 black mugs, purchased 20,000 sparklers, fitted 20 meters of astro turf and eaten what feels like half of 60 kilos of jelly beans, and I have still got to buy 50 packs of washing powder and wrap them with a mock up cover.
I am knackered and look like sh**e, so much so that the headmaster of my daughters school pulled me over yesterday to ask if I was on drugs!

just to reinforcwe what everyone else is saying
epsons better quality prints and colours imo but full of the hasstles you describe especially the b1100
ricohs pretty stable less hasstle not as good on colours but will your customers really notice ? doubtful , the problem with this trade is we all become our own worst critics i dont think ive ever had anyone come to me after buying a mug prionted on the ricoh saying hmmm the colour could be better couldnt it
