I quoted for a order that came in, but I had cocked the order up, I was cheap as chips and they came to me, I completed, as reputation is everything in business so I suck it up and did it, its easy in moment of tiredness or thoughts not on the job but on your problems. Maybe that's what happen, as it easier to than you think, nobody would go that cheap, so its either a mistake or inexperience or maybe they know something we don't know

Would it be large format prints trimmed to size creating cheap transfers? Operators then on min wage pressing.

I'm starting to realise I don't know enough about this type of printing and need to learn quick. This is an area I've been planning on starting with screen prints and transfers but margins seem low.......... which luckily I am used to on mugs.

If you're looking into wide format full colour digital printing then the initial outlay is huge (we spent 14k), but the printing costs aren't that big. 80% of the job is down to time.
Alternatively you can get full colour screen printed transfers, ready for pressing. Buy in the designs as and when if the qty is large enough.

hi Jennywren
The more I look at the quote the more I think they have made a mistake. As I know the customer very well they will soon tell me.

Andrew
My main think is mugs, but do print transfers for a couple of companies. There is profit to be made and personally I think more than on mugs as you can make more units per hour. But it is an overcrowded market (more so than mugs) and if this company has quoted correctly then also a pointless area to get into.

Johnny
Agree with you and I used to own a large screen printers where we could print out own transfers etc. However even doing it that way I think this particular job would not yield enough profit.
