One method is to decorate the candle (waterslide decal, whatever) then dip it once in hot wax. This gives a translucent effect to the decal and offers a degree of protection.

Oh that makes sense, I know I am being dense, but the waterslide decals melt ok as the candle burns down? I was wary of using the clear polyester film that some companies are doing, as surely that will remain unburnt, when the candle burns.

Good to know Pisquee, I have put off sorting it out, if I can get a good result using equipment I already have I will add it on.

I used to do these with the magic touched paper - really good results, very good quality (providing you use a decent printer)
