Defiantly press a second time with out the backing on, I alway do 5-10 sec, makes the world of difference.

It simply might not like the tumble dryer, just a thought

I always pre press for 5-10 untill i see some moisture coming out. Then apply vinyl for recomended time and then repress after peeling backing off.

That's a possibility jennywren. According to MDP it can be tumble dried. I just thought I would give it a good seeing to before I start to sell them. Thanks for your replies everyone, very much appreciated.

Yet another example of limited info over experiance thats why this forum is so valuble i dare say some where in the archives there will be a post on here regarding tips on repressing etc . Theres so many variables when printing these items and with sublimation that a supplier no matter how good they are can not cover every eventuality . Ive seen problems on here which after a lot of drilling down comes to simply a work shop thats too damp yes this does have an effect . I personally always press my vinyl twice once for the first pressing as per suppliers instructions (though id say 170 degrees is probably better) and then a futher 10 seconds once you remove the pastic carrier. Also are you pre pressing your garment to get rid of any damp in the material before you put the vinyl on? this is always a good idea also.

Thanks purpledragon. I agree, nothing beats experience. This will all take time until I get it right. I have just pre-pressed a shirt, put a glass against the material and I couldn't believe the moisture that came out!! It took 4 presses at 6 seconds each time to dry it out. Tried it at 170 degrees at 20 seconds, then re-pressed again for 6 seconds. It looks good, vinyl nice and flat, but will see how it washes. I will give the tumble drier a miss this time...

Tumble drier and vinyl Arrgh! Try putting a Dog and a Cat together in a barrel and see what happens.

Hi Jack, I have just put a Dog and Cat in a barrel and the vinyl fell off. I see what you mean!

Another thing, the manufacturer states the vinyl should not be ironed after washing, which is common sense, but, can it be ironed if the shirt is inside out, or would that release the vinyl?

When my daughter buys anything with vinyl, I quick iron inside out, that way I live longer lol
