Re: EPSON S22 for sublimation
I set up an S22 as an experiment a long time ago with refill carts. It's worked an absolute treat, incredibly slow, quality acceptable for the most. It's never clogged once and has been left off for long periods of time.
This is probably more down to luck though if I'm honest! I wouldn't recommend it as a day to day printer.

For the price of the S22, you'd be better off having one for sublimation and one for the normal inks.

Thanks for that Pisquee, but you see for people like us living very far from earth, we have to import everything and DHL is not very cheap (customs is another matter). Do I need to do anything to use the carts interchangeably?

Yes, a lot of money for ink
Every time you change the ink you will need to flush through the previous ink otherwise your images will not dye sub properly. I am not sure how many sheets you will use but I seem to remember someone saying it is about 20 sheets to totally flush the ink through. Doing this every time you want to switch will waste a lot of ink so you may want to reconsider purchasing another printer for different inks.

S22 will only need 1 charge. As there is no tubing system carts can be exchanged with standard ink. But again. Every time you swap carts your printer thinks is new ink and charge it so quite few drops will be flushed.
I use to do that a lot in my b1100. Standard ink when i wanted to print heat transfer.

Air Marshall -
If, further down the line, you decide that you want to move to a supported sublimation printer and a more professional set-up and output, we do have a Dealer in South Africa who could supply you.
