It all depends on the mugs JohnG.

For example I am running a Ricoh 7000 and have the following temps and times

180 @ 170 Seconds From supplier A
190 @ 240 Seconds From supplier B
170 @ 320 Seconds From supplier C

I suggested upping the time so that if a mug now prints with blacks as browns we could then advise to drop the time to halfway to in between the first test and the second one.

Wow - a lot of difference in those times

BMS mugs - 155/155
Listawood mugs - dabbled with their mugs but need longer times (as you mention above) so stuck with BMS.

There is a lot of difference but to be fair there is an even bigger difference in the quality of the mugs

Agree with you there, I think you do get what you pay for, with sub mugs

hi all got my paper as mentioned earlier. press very tight it feel as tho the mugs going to brake with new sawgrass paper its printing and pressing excellent now thanks for the help and suggestions.
temp set at 180c and time 180 seconds, blacks are black and outstanding colour. would these setting be ok for mugs from bms?

the free paper i got must be useless.

Your could try leaving the settings at 180/180 for BMS mugs but I use 155/155 and they're fine. All presses are different though so it is trial and error.

Glad to hear it bigboots and only two things I recommend.

Firstly loosen your press a bit. You do not need them that tight. You should be able to clamp your press with one hand easily. best thing to do is loosen a bit each time you press a mug until it simply feels right.
