Congratulations - we had our first last October, and our 2nd due in Feb - trying to keep the juggling of all the business stuff and babies is "fun" ... I'd agree that cots are too big for newborns, and a Moses basket is all you really need. There are expensive options for babies/new parents to buy, but it doesn't have to be expensive! My other recommendation is a book called "Becoming BabyWise" - a book about getting your baby into a routine - had ours sleeping through the night from 6 weeks, and in a very tight routine, so we knew when she'd be awake/sleep, need feeding etc, which meant planning when we could do work for our businesses was possible and meant we could keep going.

Congratulations on the news hun..

I will second the Natures Nest.. had one for my third and she slept pretty much through the night from day one.. (nine hours first night home..)

They are a fantastic invention and should be mandatory lol..

Either way.. get plenty of sleep between you for the next nine months x

It's going to be a busy 2013. I turn 30 in February, having baby in June and getting married in July. i couldn't be happier well apart from the 30 bit lol
I understand how that feels, I was ill at 42, I thought my cervical cancer had come back, I had a major op at 40 and have been given the all clear, any how long boring story cut short, I was pregnant, I cried all year long, not what I wanted ( husband over the moon ) but that's how I became self employed, ( got fired from my job for it ) now 19 years later she joined the army and all ends well.It takes some adjusting. But well done and as my husbands ALWAYS saying everything happens for a reason ( I hate that saying) but its true. Congratulations
