I think that's possible. Mine do say "Epson" on them.

That said, I'm not really sure if there is any difference in the pigments being sold other than the label. I suspect the same ink (dye or pigment) comes out of the same vat, and is put in bottles that say either "Epson" or "Brother". I don't think they're made any differently. It's not like Epson printers are renowned for being able to take thick ink without blocking - they barely take regular dye ink without blocking.

If you're putting pigment ink into a printer that's designed for dye ink and has a tiny droplet size of 1.5pl, there seems little point in formulating a pigment ink that's thicker than porridge! So I suspect the consistency of all third-party pigment ink to be the same.

Well I am wondering whether moving from a Brother printer that is known to be easy to use to the same ink in an S22 that is known to be a bit tetchy is likely to solve Johnny's issues or more likely to cause an S22 to go flying lol

I wouldn't go to an S22, and that's for sure. (I've never had one, though.) If I was looking at Epson printers these days, I'd be looking at those WorkForce models. I think there's one that'll take a cartridge of 180ml capacity - that's 20 times the capacity of a regular Epson cartridge. Epson are doing some nice things with larger cartridges now, but the flip is that they aren't as cheap as the £20 models (only to be expected).
