I agree with Johnny's comments. It is not the mistake that is the issue, it is how they dealt with it.

Two fine examples of this are a recent purchase and how my business is growing. I recently purchased a heat press from a supplier that arrived damaged, it did not affect the operation of the heat press, but still I felt that I deserved a discount as the item could not be classified as new. Without questioning anything the supplier automatically gave me a satisfactory discount and I continue to use and recommend that supplier whenever I can. Likewise I have clicked on the wrong ink cartridge and the supplier has spotted this, contacted me and subsequently corrected the order. Service like this deserves my loyalty and gets it.

I also apply the same "without question" attitude to my customers. I always ensure I deliver the goods at the correct time in a well packaged container to ensure safe delivery. At times this has meant me driving to Birmingham to collect a parcel that has been mis routed and then personally deliver it to Southampton, all at my own cost as couriers will never pay for such errors and it is not the customers fault. Sure I lost quite a bit of money on that particular job, but the customer knew I went above and beyond to deliver on time and subsequenly keep coming back. From 1 customer about 10 years ago I have grown into 20 or so very regular customers that keep me very busy. I have never advertised my services anywhere. In actual fact my company is probably one of the hardest to find on the web!!!!

If I was in Worthdoingwrite's shoes I simply would not use the supplier again. The box arrived in good condition and clearly had not been tampered with. The ink must have come from the supplier. Give them a wide berth as there is always another supplier who can source the same item. If its more expensive with another supplier then talk to them about a discount. I am sure Martin can offer a supplier opinion but I have found that price is always the easiest thing to deal with when talking to customers, you can either sell at a certain price or you can't. What you can offer is better service and faster turnarounds etc to clinch the deal.

In addition to my previous comments I am probably as baffled by WDR's delivery as he is.

Your comment says it came from a reputable supplier. I presume this means you have used them before and never had any issues yet the box did not look like it had been tampered with. Is there any chance the item has been repacked by the courier?

I ask this because it happened to me about 5 years ago. The contents inside my particular consignment were not damaged there were just a few of the items missing. When I contacted the supplier we agreed that there is no way they would short me as it's just something they do not do. As they were (and still are) a reputable company I had no reason not to believe them, after a few emails and conversations we eventually stumbled across the fact that the items had actually been repacked by the courier. I contacted the courier and they obviosuly denied this but we knew this is what happened.

I am not saying that this has happened in this case, but if you trust your supplier then it must have come from somewhere else. Like my customers I like to build relationships with my suppliers. Over time this has proved so beneficial to the success of my company and got me out of several holes!

Happy anniversary by the way. your evening could not have been any worse than the one I spent in Jail after WRONGFUL (and I repaet WRONGFUL) arrest. The worse part of that evening is not the fact that I kept saying to the police you have the wrong guy, it was the fact that on that night, and to this day, I do not think my wife believes they had the wrong guy!

I suppose anything is possible in this mixed up world but as the box was covered in tape with the suppliers name printed all over it I think the chances are slim.

I had infact never purchased from this supplier before but I say reputable as this is a firm with a good reputation in the industry - so good infact that I was going to say nothing about my issues and let it drop. However Johnny's comments made me wonder what others would do in my situation (and perhaps more importantly what they felt the supplier should have done to make me a happy 'repeat' customer).

Your comment about false arrest reminds me of the time I came home from work to be asked by the wife when was the last time I saw a doctor at my surgery. I said it must have been at least 6 months ago. She then called me a liar and showed me a card pushed through our letterbox telling me to contact some number regarding my 'notifiable disease'. I rang the number to be told that I had had some disease last week and that my doctor had told them this. I told them that they had the wrong guy but they kept telling me no they had not. It turned out that the 'notifiable disease' was some stomach bug and that the doctor had put another patients records onto my medical records by mistake. Funny thing is 15 years later this mystery disease is still on my medical records and I have given up trying to get it removed!

i once had a delivery with a mouse in the box - and it was a hungry mouse as a lot of the contents were "nibbled" the company had sent it royal mail - a few years ago now before courier deliveries had really taken off, i took a photo of said mouse (nicely at home in a 3xl t shirt) and sent it to them - much laughter came, and the whole delivery was replaced and i got to keep the mouse !!!! still not known how mouse came to be there

Glad to see that your disease hasn't progressed and that you are still with us WDR :-)

Personally with regards to the supplier issue, I would say give them another try. If they are a reputable supplier then whatever happened has happened and I do not think you, the supplier or the courier's will ever get to the bottom of it. Even the best of us make mistakes :-)

However, when you order again, make sure you have your camera handy should it happen again, which I doubt it will given the reputation.

Agree with Social if the supplier has been good in the past and there was maybe an error then give them another go as they will no doubt be only to pleased to make sure issues do not arise again

Surely that depends on whether you are layering it under other flex lol
Furthermore was it a light mouse for dark t-shirts or a dark mouse for light t-shirts PMSL
