I was thinking that if you offered cardiff/london/birmingham as options on 1 item and 2011/2012/2013 on the other and the bulk of your orders just happenned to be for london and 2012 then I cannot see how that would break their rules - although Draconian comes to mind looking at that website!

it might have been law in action, but they were basically saying that the law courts would throw it out, and to date there have been no actual proscecutions, a bit like those parking companies that hassle you

London
Overbearing
Communist
Orwellian
Gits

makes my blood boil and has in all honesty killed off any interest I had in the event which is a big big shame because it 'should' have been a huge national boost.

My better half summed up the way in which this 'sponsor/LOCOG hijacking' of the games has impacted on the country in a negative way.
There has been billions of £'s more spent on this than any major football event such as the world cup etc. For those events you could see flags etc flying from cars/houses etc showing support for the event. By threatening legal action against those who infringe LOCOG rules in the smallest way they have IMO killed off the massive support there would have been with people showing their support.........flags flying from cars, flag poles, buildings, homes etc.

IMO LOCOG has shot itself in the foot.

Yes, a great opportunity to unite the people fails spectacularly again purely down to commercialism and the bullying of the little guys who just want to make a living.

It is sad that before you can put anything on an item today you have to check and check again incase you infringe someones rights.

If 'London 2012' is protected does that mean we wont see any plaques saying born london 2012 or died london 2012 or erected london 2012 or founded london 2012.

I think it is as much BS as the copyright attempt on the Keep Calm logo.

To quote a saying from one of my favourite films 'Inconceivable!'

All this copyright on the event is their loss as they won't be able to see all the wonderful products that I COULD have produced. (The stupid Barstewards)
