get that all the time too - along with google adwords. Love how they all promise to get you to the top of the first page of google. My test for them is ususlly if they can be on the first page using the word seo, not thier own version of what to search for.

how they do it is to use backlinks
ie joining loads of sites and post rubbish.
i have prob 20-30 ppl a week trying to join my forum doing this.
they soon get put on a spam register which then makes your site marked as spam also, which in turn gets your IP blocked etc etc
they ppl are rubbish and if you really want to employ an seo person check about and get recommendations like everything

if they are ringing you steer clear cos good seo ppl don't need work they will have a waiting list

Getting first page on many terms that aren't that competitive is relatively easy. A big part of the problem is covering all bases on what search terms are used. You can often find related search terms on google analytics as many people searching will use long tail keywords rather than an exact two word phrase you might chasing. For many on this forum you should be able to hit top spot by Geo locating your SEO rather than going National. It's not a very competitive field we are in for personalised printing.

A great tool for both seo and your customers is a blog related to your site. Keeps fresh content going and makes sure google is regularly crawling your site. Easy to get a variety of related keywords in without looking out of place.

Ive brought similer items in the past , Im guessing the quality on the items will be far from the quality that you guys would produce. Id use that has one of my selling points tbh , Something along the lines of .. " The quality of this item is reflected in the price " im betting that guys case will fall apart within a week

Wait for them to run out of ink... or their press breaks.. and they realise they haven't actually made any money !!

My business gets onto page one of google, on both domain names. Also on ebay I sell as many if not more than the cheapo sellers on there. Word of mouth is the best form of advertising.
