Had an Epson R1800 and used more ink clearing blockages than printing.

Switched to a Ricoh GX7000 and haven't had a single problem.

Don't see the point tbh. Epsons work faultlessly and I prefer 6 colour output on most of my work. I don't put that much through them to justify bigger carts and refill in seconds anyway.

From what I've seen all 3 of my printers probably take up the same space as 1 Brother! lol. I don't like having equipment with redundant features, i.e. scanners etc.

Epson 1400 for sub work (no ciss) I agree with Justin about the 6 colour quality. px700 with dye ink and ciss for normal printing, and another 1400 with pigment ink for photo work.
I like the 1400s!
They are worth the odd clean for the quality of the output, but with the inks I am using I don't seem to have any problems with them (touch wood).
The PX700 is a good workhorse plus the cartridges are separate from the print head which makes using ciss possible without issues.

Had a Ricoh 7000 for nearly 3 years after 7 years of Epsons - wouldn't look again at anything that needsd a CIS!

Ricoh GXe3300n. Wouldn't want to use any printer now.
