Actually bought a few things to start with from Coralgraph on fleabay & was all fine. then ordered a few things direct... but to be honest i'm gonna try bms as 3 items i purchased got refunded the day after as not in stock ! even though they said it was when ordering... i got a nice message saying they'd refunded me, but did'nt tell me what items for & no signs on the account of what had been refunded ! Had to email them to ask.

That's a good point because whenever I use eBay, the first thing I do is to sort my search results by price - so, using their current tactic, I'd never see Coralgraph's listings. I wonder if other people do the same?

It keeps the Ebay listing ranking, due to the length of time the listing has been live, instead of starting a new listing to build up a ranking to be at the top of searches.

Does that make a difference if you just filter the search results by price?

Probably not in most cases, but you will find retailers selling the same products at the same prices and this will be where the ranking comes into play.

I am no Ebay expert though.

I'm no ebay expert either but I think even if the reason they do this is to keep the best match ranking, it's as broad as long to starting a new listing.... From my understanding - to keep your ranking in the 'best match' searches you need to keep your sales up too - if they don't sell any for 1-2 weeks, they will start to drop right back down to the bottom again.

Also the best match algorithm counts 'conversion rate' as one of the determining factors - which means the more people that click the listing and don't buy anything, the worse the conversion rate will be, which in turn will push the listing down in rankings over time...

Just my 2p worth

People are funny creatures, ask yourself this, do you want to be the first to use BIN (but it now) button on a listing. I feel they do it so that they dont loose the number sold. I keep my listings on gte (good till ended) as that way the number sold still shows. It also helps me retain my power seller and top rated seller status, but then I make sure I never run out of stock. I am not in this nitche by the way, this I am hoping to turn into an add onto what I do.

Tight lines
