You have to take into account potential wasteage, otherwise you're running at a loss and you won't last long doing that. You can't expect perfection every time. If you're doing a hundred items, you can absorb one or two wasted items that occur during setting up/getting colours right. That's subjective. I happen to agree with you, but I'm not my customer. History has shown that whatever I like, my customers don't, and whatever I think is hideous sells like a rocket.
