Pad printing is one of the easiest ways of printing, once its all set up, the machine does it all for you. The hardest part is getting the work in - never worked out how to do that one though

For mugs i'd think you'd need a 2 pack ink though - screen printing is non existant at the moment - that's why the pad printer is for sale :frown:

So you do the screen printing with the pad printer? 2 pack ink? All greek to me. I've had a mug printed with organic ink as it cures at the same temp as subli but beyond that it's over my head. I need to employ someone with experience in these type of things probably rather than trying to learn it all myself.

Sorry Andrew, its the way I wrote it.

No, pad printing is different to screen printing - I meant I cannot get any work in for the pad printer, and come to think about it, the screen printing too.

If you fancy relocating your business to the North East i'll be interested in the pad printing job.

Opposite sides of the country...... and different country come to that. It's hard to find experienced people for these things and with it being a niche industry it works the same way for finding jobs in the industry. Even training is hard to find unless you can travel to the end of the world. I get asked for screenprinted mugs about 3 or 4 times a day right now but it's guesswork on how to get started.

I was looking at this but not sure what laser printer would take 240 - 300 gsm card. I only really want to do stationery.

I've seen this done on a standard laminator - all you need is the correct foil.

does it get hot enough? The people selling the toner foils say it wont but then again they do sell a "special" temp controlled laminator for 120 squids - so guess they would say that.

I cannot find the video I watched, regarding this, but looking at the following listing the seller says a laser printer and a desk top laminator is all that's required.
