The other thing to remember is, everyone's a David bailey these days, but some of the photo's I get given aren't printable without sorting a few things out in Photoshop first.

Your going to have to tidy most of the photo's up first, show a proof, size it to fit, print it, press it - and the customer will want it 20 minutes ago. You also have the problems of running a geny for your power and trying to keep your heat presses away from people who just want to touch it to see how hot it is.

Good idea though

Oh forgot - you'll need insurance too
Yeah I thought they might be a bit, small, however the only items that I would probably sell would be iPhone cases, keyrings etc. all of which are pretty small, so a facebook sized photo would probably suffice, just about!

I would probably operate a "buy now, pick up in an hour" kind of turnaround time... So they could have a walk round then come back.

Hopefully, if we were setting up in an indoor market/car boot, then power would not be a problem?

I will take a look at insurance now, is it Market Traders?

Thanks for the input :)

You only need 1 or 2 customers faffing about in that hour and you've no time to make the first one.

We have a shop but there's no way I offer same day subli service, next day is fastest they get

It wouldn't just be myself running the stall. I would have one of us serving customers, and the other doing the printing. I thought that it would be pretty easy to turn their products around in an hour? Then again, I have no experience of on-the-spot printing!

Its worth a try - but just remember 2 people running a stall is two peoples wages (unless you have family members willing to give up their spare time)

I saw your thread about flyers - how did these go?

I personally don't think it will work at one off events.I have had a shop for over20 years.Just about all are pre meditated. It is very difficult you get an impulse buy.You might get an enquire that results in an order for stag our hen tops......The dilemma of one or two staff........if you are quiet, one its too many, if you get a time waster then you loose all productivity. How much power do you need?A T press, mug press and a laptop and a printer could easily be 2000w more than a small generator can make.....

I see what you mean, but I won't be doing t-shirts, it'll be mainly novelty things such as phone cases or purses etc. The main reason to do these events is to get our name out there and to perhaps show how the process is done, to draw people to the stall.

I think I am going to give it a go at an indoor Baby & Mothers market in May, and take it from there.

Thanks for the advice everyone.
