my cutter has both, usb and serial connection. I use serial as its working faster (!) for me and no hassle :)
those chinese cutters got funny drivers for usb. some work and some not :)

Well my main pc didnt have a serial port initially, until I bought a card from Priceless in Glasgow and it's been a dream since then. If it wasnt for the fact that I've bought a smaller cutter I would still use it.

It even survived the great "Windows 7" install debacle last year which meant I had to scrap a fair bit of kit including 2 webcams and a few bits of legacy software.
