A tenner each. Would only ever do shirts as a favour so not retail. Overheads - yes. Would have told them they can have bog standard text front and back for a fiver but if they won't the extra then it's double.
How long did the job take? That would really help me price it but as we rarely do vinyl shirts so hard to work out. I hate vinyl by the way..... it's the Devil's work.

The job didn't take that long really as the design was quite easy to weed (I have some major ones that take longer).
I do most of my weeding at night to keep the production time down but I would say, weeding time 10 minutes, production time 20 mins.
Like anything though - the hardest and longest bit is the design phase which I take my time over if someone wants something special (do it over a couple of nights bouncing a few jobs together).

So are you saying Andrew that it would be £10 per shirt plus £5 for standard text = £15 per shirt (if 3d text is required then it would be £20 per shirt) ?

You did the design as well? Missed that bit. I would have told them to take a hike personally (did I mention I hate vinyl?).
Is that 10mins pers shirt weeding?

I think that Andrews price is too cheap for this type of design but this is the price people expect to pay - anything more and they aren't interested and walk away.
My price was based on having a unit, wouldn't matter if I was busy or quiet and price includes delivery and vat.
OK then Adam - how much did you charge?

You're right John, my price would be too cheap which is why I would only ever do vinyl tees for friends/family. I priced it on the same scenario as Adam said - for a mate rather than retail. Having said that, I wouldn't be doing the work myself which is why I tend to work out an hourly cost as I need to make a profit after paying wages. Does usually mean I can be cheaper and make a living so I could possibly get by on a tenner. People rarely won't to pay what the prints are worth as they tend to be one off's for tour or a night out etc. which is why I would always put the bog standard text offer on the table as well.

So, I charged £14.99 per t-shirt and any purchases over £50 get a 10% off mug voucher to bring them back in for a mug.
We have a shop but as we predominantly sell children's clothes we are not VAT registered (yet).
I think that my price considering they're unique and not standard prints was a good price but like everyone has said, it really depends where you are and what you can sell stuff for.
Personally, I believe I lot of my stuff is underpriced but we are still in the first year and word of mouth is everything - this plus the economy at the moment means that people want to get a better deal - plus it brings people back.
I have a guide on the counter where it explains how much a t-shirt is with a standard one colour print, adding different colours then adds to the price. Once I know exactly what's required I can then see how much work is envolved and how much vinyl will be used (as an example this is a 3 colour design but it's (approx) 90% white, 10% green and 10% yellow. So if (as an example) the standard charge is £2 per colour this would be 4 lots of £2 (3 prints on the front, 1 on the rear). After that you can then hopefully give a discount so the customer sees the deal they are getting ................ then after the work is complete everyone's happy.

I think £15 quid is fairly spot on, Adam. Obviously with costs rising with the intricacy of design.

No it was a tenner flat - based on mates rates (no delivery etc. and tees supplied) fiver for plain text front and back only.
I think your price is fair though but seems very steep for what I am used to. The design part muddys the water on cost though and spreading that cost over just 6 tees is obviously going to be costly.

Yes but as I said, it all depends on how much work you have on, and also what you can charge depending on what competition is available.
I perhaps should have mentioned that for custom designs like this I do a free mock up which involves doing the design in the colours requested and printing it out as a graphical display on the required garment so the customer can see what it will look like once produced.
But, it's like anything - if the customer is happy and you (i.e the seller) is happy then things work
