Interesting, because in have a number of sets and I didn't know which were from the GX7000. Only 1 set was so I tried 2 cyans in my machine and they were both recognised, which suggests that the Ricoh starter cartridges are generic, i.e. they work on the GXe3300 and GX5050/GX7000 (and possibly many others).

The ricoh sub ink carts are the same for both 5050n and 7000 so I guessed that the original 5050n's would be compatible with the 7000

Yes but I had 1 set of GX7000 and then around 6 sets of GXe3300 and couldn't see any difference on the carts. So I tried 2 cyans in my GX7000 and both worked. At least 1 of these cyans must have been for a GXe3300 and it worked in my GX7000.

If that's the case could you put a sub cart from a 5050n/7000 into a 3300 as the carts are a much bigger capacity

Not sure, but it's an expensive experiment.

As tempted as I might be John G, I think I let someone else try this. Although, maybe if someone brings their GXe3300 to me I'll swap over the GX7000 cartridges and see if it works...
