The transparent matte sheets arrived today and I've tried scanning the unisub placemat/board again. The ColorMunki still won't scan it, even though it's not in the least bit glossy now.
I'm struggling to think of what the issue is. It could be that the board just isn't white enough, but that doesn't make sense because not all photo paper would be ultra white.
My only thought at the moment is that maybe the colours are too far away from accurate for the ColorMunki to properly scan. If you try using the ColorMunki to scan a dye-sub print straight out of the printer (on paper, before pressing), it also refuses to acknowledge the scan - even though it'll happily scan the same print on the same paper using regular dye-inks.
There are a couple of colours on the Uni-Sub board (noticeably the greens in that first stripe) that are so woefully inaccurate that maybe this is throwing the ColorMunki off. I'm just clutching at straws here.
Just to check the ColorMunki is working, I ran the scan over a mousemat I printed awhile back and it scanned okay first time - so there's no issue with the hardware or software, only with the item it's scanning.
It's a strange one.

Did you unmirored picture when printed with standard inks?JSR;25240 wrote: even though it'll happily scan the same print on the same paper using regular dye-inks.
I know that munki dont like it if you try force it to scan mirrored print. munki know exactly what colours are expected to see, in what order.

Re: Looking for non UniSub coasters/placemats
The "regular dye ink" profile I did was on my other printer (that's not mirrored).
It is mirrored on the dye-sub printer, but I didn't think that would be a problem. I just started scanning from the last row first so that it would get the colours in the right order. How would it know the print is mirrored?

Odd, but on my mirrored print the colours are in the right order - it's just that the rows go from right-to-left instead of left-to-right.
Each row has the number 1 to 5 at the start and the arrow goes in the right direction. So long as you start with row 1, the colours go from bottom-to-top in the right order.

odd.. is very dificult to think about what cause this [roblem. can you stick one in to the envelope and post it to me J? I will have a look if my munki will read it or not. if no. it means there is something wrong with this blank. if yes. well... your munki

Re: Looking for non UniSub coasters/placemats
Paul, I'll send you one in the week (probably Wednesday).
I don't see how the ColorMunki can be at fault given that it scans everything else except unisub.
