I found the mdp jigs to be awful.
i threw away more coasters than I sold.

The mdf warped like nothing I have ever seen before.
I did post about these years ago when I tried them and considered the metal jigs instead but I always ended up taping them.

Were they as chunky back then as they are now? Bought 6 just before Christmas to try and not got round to trying them yet but they’re about 18mm thick so the timer on the stahls fusion heat press won’t kick in as it’s too thick.

Yep thick and ugly. (like gemma collins)

MDF is a poor material for any type of printing jig. It will absorb moisture so it is virtually impossible to keep the jig flat. I have manufactured mdf printing jigs for uv printing and the varying ambient moisture content warps and twists the jig. The best material for sublimation printing jigs is aluminium when cost and performance are considered. Stainless steel would be good but expensive.

Do they supply a template for the jig? How are you lining up the print when the printer misaligns them? I do have an idea to fix this, but it involves printing onto A3 paper instead and trimming down to shape.

So has anyone tried the new coasters yet, now that they have arrived in? How is the backing with heat tape?

Yes, just email them for the PDF layout. We then turned this into a Photoshop template. We print onto 24" paper and cut the templates out and place over coasters using two pieces of tape either side of paper on jig.

The templates are on the page of the coasters and jigs.
