I would like to see a comparison to mdp mugs too.

What's everyone verdict on these mugs, going to give some samples a go but noticed they've sold over 30 pallets full over the past week so they must be working for some of you guys.

So far we're finding them very good. We had damages on arrival probably down to the courier.

Mugs are very straight and so far we've not seen any imperfections.

We've now printed a few boxes of these, quality overal lhas been fine. One thing we have noticed though is that all of our prints are suddenly darker and colours are not quite as good. I don't have any 5013's in stock for comparison but the only thing we'[ve changed is the mugs. Maybe the coating, maybe we need to cook for shorter times. Anyone seen this?

That's very useful information. Not something easy to fix with a change of profile either so hopefully others will have an idea of what is going on - apart from a cheaper coating.

[FONT=Söhne][/FONT]Our initial trials with these mugs were promising, especially when using our studio twin presses. Based on these positive results, we proceeded to order them in bulk. However, after testing around 600 mugs, we observed a significant number of imperfections, particularly in the black prints. Despite various adjustments and trials with different settings, the mugs did not meet our quality standards for consistent production. We have since resorted in going back to what works best for us, that is 5013s.

It's possible that these mugs might be better suited for oven curing rather than press printing. On occasions where the print quality was spot on, the results were indeed impressive.

For now, we'll use the remaining stock for designs with lighter colours. If anyone in the North West is interested in acquiring some of these mugs, they're available for collection from our location.

We only use ovens. Not noticed any imperfections so far. I agree, does seem to be an issue with darker colours. I'm just running tests now.

What exactly is your issue with black prints? What paper are you using?

We've been using our normal setup for mugs which is Atkins twin studio mug presses set at 180 degrees for 150 seconds, using only Sawgrass official ink on 120gsm ink experts style paper. The mugs themselves we have not found any imperfections at all, other than a few smashes through transit, they are great and truly AAA Orca.

Just, on the print side we've not quite cracked it yet for worry free pressing like 5013s. The main issue we were getting was colour bluration in corners on colours such as blue and yellow but on regards to blacks were getting many brown final results. Our test of bringing down temperatures to 170 and 165 with various timings still produced the same results.

If anyone has any other settings, or indeed supplies that work better with 5005s then please do let us know, willing to test out anything that makes our process run smoothly. Have a great Friday.

It's been a while since I've printed a 5013 mug, but they went into the oven for 19 mins, when an 11oz Orca would need 20m 30s and about 22 mins in winter. So the coating is very different. Haven't had an issue with pure black with these 5005s.

When I used Adkins mug presses and was selling loads of a yellow and black design, the yellow would always blow out. Dropping the temperature and using an oven fixed it immediately. I will be doing a big batch of full colour mugs this week, so will keep a close eye on the quality. but haven't noticed anything obvious so far.
