Re: Royal Mail/ Post Office overcharging

Update: Our local Post Office now only open Mon-Thur from 9.30 to 3.30pm closed Fri/Sat/Sun, not that I use them but pretty hopeless.

More of a scandal is our RM Sorting Office (for dropping off C&D packages) is only open 8.00 to 10.00am on Mon/Tue/Wed/Thur/Fri, a late night on Thur 4.00 to 7.00pm and 9.00 to 12 on a Saturday. The option to drop C&D 'pre paid' items round to the back of the sorting office until 5pm was taken away as seemingly post with manifests were being wrongly filled in and so everything stopped even though C&D is already paid.

If in 2019 the RM had been working on these hours there would have been an outcry but hours that were put in, in the depths of Covid have not been changed now things are totally different, also the staff who work the front counter are there all day, they don't finish at 10.00am so quite where this nonsense has come from god only knows. Can you get an answer, of course not!

I have just received a £12 cash payout letter from the Post Office, in response to my complaint!!!

Guess it is worth complaining, sometimes.

The Post Offices get paid next to nothing when you drop off pre-paid stuff so they prefer it if you buy it there.
Bollocks to that, though.

Is there an issue with large letter?

I have been sending items in large letter size boxes and it’s not turning up.
I would expect 1/50 to go walkies but I’m missing every other item in sending.

Royail mail are telling me I can’t claim anything as I don’t have proof of postage but how do you get that using a postbox ffs!

My post office is always closed as is my sorting office (can’t get proof there anyway)
I have resorted to sending large letter items via evri.
