Trace what in illustrator? There's no original design to trace on ebay unless the seller is stupid enough to show a full-res design on their mockup without watermarking it. A mug mockup will show a curved design on ebay at a low resolutio making it difficult to simply trace and correct the distortion.
Try it and post your results!

Are you serious? Why don't we all just copy all the Liverpool stuff etc and just point out you feel it's fine.

I'll ignore that as it's clearly not what I was saying.

I've downloaded one of these supposedly copied designs from the link Janners provided in the first post.
Firstly, no watermark. Was this removed from the copied design, or did it not exist on the original?
Secondly, I challenge anyone to make an original wrap image suitable for printing, with clean lines and without any curvature of the image in Illustrator and post your final image.
Please be honest about how long it took you.

Sorry to labour this point but, have any of you noticed the gradient across the design on that mug caused by the rendered shadow? That would also have to be removed and is a notoriously difficult job, even with Photoshop, and would certainly take longer than the few minutes suggested above.

Go on I'll bite....

So we see any design on a product for sale on the web that we like. We copy the image and title and stick it on our eBay shop, if it sells we copy that design (even by redrawing it) and away we go. No initial design input at all. Which brings me back to the Liverpool analogy. OK Liverpool FC are bigger than most of us (most...probably all) and can file a really big lawsuit. However you think that is OK and perfectly acceptable?
I still fail to see your point. I have tried, even drank decaf tea to perhaps clear the brain of some fog, but I still don't see how you feel that is fine.
Are you saying, as you feel it is fine, that is what you do?.....I doubt it as you would probably have been called out on here a long time ago.
Yours sincerely and very confused.

PS now swapping warm drunks for cold ones with bubbles and a head so unlikely to answer tonight.

The seller could be dropshipping your products. Stealing your image and title and buying from your Etsy store.
As for stealing designs. They can buy the product, photograph it and stick it on a mug. They couldn't give too sh**s about the quality. A certain sublimation supplier will even piggy back onto your own Amazon listing to sell your design.

enough said there.
Amazon and eBay don't allow watermarks on product images and insist on high quality images being uploaded. Counterfeiters don't care about warped text.
Google your own images and you will find your watermarked images being sold on AliExpress. So if a buyer tries to look for your item for cheaper elsewhere, they will see your branded products being sold 'officially' on Aliexpress. That will tarnish your brand.

We've used watermarks on every image uploaded to ebay for years now, as do many others, so it appears ebay do allow watermarks, whatever it may say in their T's & C's. Csn't comment on Amazon though as we've never used them for selling.

I never mentioned Liverpool FC. What have they got to do with it? No one in their right mind would copy any footie club designs! Lol!

Chuckle, yep!
I had some items removed from eBay a few years ago because I had watermarks on them. However a few remained. I pulled them and changed the images. I guess that confirms eBay are a bit hit and miss.

Hang on... not sure if you still are, but when you were selling personalised birthday invites you had Spiderman and Frozen to name but a few of the characters you plagiarized, in the full knowledge of what you were doing.
So judging by your comments, Liverpool is a no, but Marvel are fair game?????
And to watermark stuff that is clearly not your own just takes the piss

Fair enough, but I never directly copied any of these, they were all composites I spent weeks making. If Disney had any complaints they would have closed my shop ages ago.
I'm not a 'big business,' unlike your high aand mighty self, and have a living to scratch out so sometimes I take my chances. That's the way the world works.
I've read other comments by you andisn't it time you crawled out of your own arse and saw the world for what it really is?
Don't bother replying, I'll not be back.
Prick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
