If anyone does use "myhermes", please post your experiences here. This company has an extremely bad reputation on the web (see one such review site here: http://www.trustpilot.co.uk/review/www.myhermes.co.uk) which prevents me, and many others, from using them.

Reputation is the most difficult thing to improve and the easiest thing to destroy so, if they don't deserve their bad rep, we need to hear about it.

I'm sorry too, that you misunderstand what I'm saying.

I'm saying that myhermes have a terrible reputation on the web as indicated by the site I linked to - about 60 people from 77 who commented on that site alone (there are other websites with many similar complaints) have posted various reasons why myhermes has let them down and why they deserve their low rating. That's almost 80% of people warning not to rely on them.

Of course it's easier for people to complain, but that isn't the point - the point is that so many people felt so aggrieved that they felt the need to complain in the first place. Yes, the snow caused many problems for everyone from Royal Mail, to Parcel Force, to DHL, to HDNL, and probably many others that I didn't use but past usage and mitigating circumstances mean that I don't feel sufficiently aggrieved to complain about them. So for so many people to complain about myhermes (particularly during times of no snow and no mitigating circumstances) must mean that either there's something in the complaints, or their reputation needs restoring.

What I'm saying is that if people are having good experiences then they should post here to let us know, because that would help restore myhermes' reputation. You've posted your positive experiences and that's good, but you're just one voice against so many others and there needs to be more in favour of myhermes.

More voices in favour of myhermes are needed if anyone in their right mind is going to trust myhermes with their business. I trust you and I believe that you've had good service, but that isn't enough for me to risk my business when 80% of people highlight the issues that they've had with myhermes. I suspect it wouldn't be enough for others either.

That's why, as I've said, more positive voices are needed.

thats very true JSR. But I only writed what I think about them. I dont know. I may be the lucky one here. I know is dificult to trust company with such a reputation like that on the net. but lets dont forget this is only young company and we all know what ammount of time is needed to build the name.

what else I can say...? they got my thumbs up.

ps. when I said joke company I did not mean dhl or other courier. I mean P2go. as I dont trust them any more. I think I used them 5 times and twice courier never showed up. I know every business got good and bad time but the point is they explenetions! "pass the blame" is they method they like to use. They blame the courier and the courier blame them... Thats why I Preffer to order service in the source.

Today I booked a collection from Parcel2go & got the following email -

Your booking has been accepted by the courier and is scheduled for collection on 24/02/2011. We sincerely apologise if this is not the date you originally requested but the delays in depots caused by the weather have had a significant impact. The great news is that the weather seems to be improving and the delays in the depot are clearing so we anticipate a return to normal service very soon. Thank you for using Parcel2Go.com and we would humbly thank you for your continued patience during this busy time.
You should receive either a collection status email by midnight on the date of collection.

Looks like the weather is still bad

I've always used Interparcel for quotes and end up with cheap TNT/DHL/UPS deals - admittedly always more expensive than MyHermes/UKMail/HOME etc but way more reliable and professional.

I've always had bad experiences with UK Mail and HOME. In fact I was at the UK Mail depot in Cambuslang to pick up a parcel this evening as they had tried to deliver yesterday but I "wasnt in" despite being "in" all day, no one came in the front office and it was just a card through the external letterbox with no bell or knock on the door from UK Mail. Anyway I digress... so I went to pick up the parcel today as I had phoned yesterday to ask for it to be held in depot. I arrive, and after 5 minutes with no one in the reception, a wee girl comes through and asks for my card. Duly hands over the card and she wanders off - ten minutes later she comes back saying that there was a problem. I said "Is the parcel lost?" "Naw" she replies "it's just we cannae find it in the depot". I ask again "Isnt that the definition of lost?" "Naw" she replied again "it's no lost, its just we cannae find it. We cannae say its lost we can only say that we cannae find it. Is it important?" - I say that I'm unsure as I'm awaiting several deliveries and I cant comment on who the sender was so I cant comment on how "important" it was, but weren't all customer deliveries "important". She said she couldnt tell me the sender as it was against company policy. So after much discussion back and forth about the definition of "lost" and my frustration at being unable to impart if it was "important" or not, because she wouldn't tell me who it was from - she went back into the depot for a wee look around. So she comes back with a box after twenty five minutes later and a sheepish look and says "oh it was in the place where we left it originally - I musta missed it the first time". Sigh.

A twenty five mile round journey, forty wasted minutes in depot and the proud owner of a box of 100 envelopes later I wish never to use UK Mail again. Sigh
