Hi Mr Teajunkie
i'm just having a play around with the press pressure, bear in mind i'm using Ceramic camper mugs.
what are the x2 small alloy keys bolts for? should they be tight?

I gave up on the metal mugs as just couldn't get consistant results - also, never heat up the press without a mug in as it damages the blanket.
The temp will drop when putting the mug in to be printed - the mug will be cold.

I have always gone by that but with the free sub press I was told not to use a cold mug while preheating.
the blanket shouldn’t raise above the 185 as the thermostat will shut it off anyway so there’s no difference in having a mug in place or not.

In Tony’s YouTube link free sub don’t have a mug in the display model either while preheating.
It’s sat at 191oC while they are taping design onto mug with no problems.

You wouldn’t stick a roast beef joint in the oven while it’s preheating just to put another in when it reaches temp.

I can’t see your image but if you mean the ones with springs in then yes they won’t move they are there to hold the springs in place which hold pressure on the mug blanket.

the bubbles appear because you did not used a blank mug for heating up the heat press or better said a blank mug should be used for heating up every mug press to counter bubbles

My mug press sleeve has bubbled in the same way. Hasn't effected over all quality. I do full mug prints in a halogen oven now.
It's pretty hard to get a consistent mug press unless you pay £300+ for a Adkins or similar.
