The same way you print large banners, on an Eco solvent or UV printer with a proper block out scratch resistant substrate specifically designed for the job, or on a material that is laminated afterward.

There might be a substrate that you can ink jet onto, but it’s not going to be scratch resistant and if the material has the tensioning flexibility that you need.

Getting something for sublimation will end up costing more than doing it “properly”

Just to be clear ....

They don't come with "mini banners". You buy the hardware only and need to print onto the normal grey back roller banner material which usually comes in rolls of 914 mm width.

It's only practical if you already have a sign printer and produce full size roll-up banners. Even then the cost of the mini desktop banners is not proportionally less than the full size ones so demand is lowish.

Polyester is not rigid enough to retract into the cassette properly and without the grey backing will let light through and the pole fixing will be visible through the design.

Thank you both for your valuable advice and so we will stay clear of doing these. Just coming up with new ideas to market at our current clients.

Hey guys, I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, how much would an outdoor roller banner cost? Even since I read this blog, I've been meaning to get a few printed but I just want to know what to expect.

If you have your own artwork there are plenty of people giving them away online at around £30 - £35 each, + vat. Just google 'roller banners'.

I have a solvent printer, but that price is why I don't bother much with banners and signs. Printing onto garment vinyl I can turnover up to £200 per sq/metre, plus some mark up on each blank garment. Banners vinyl I am lucky to get £25 sq/metre, and have to spend time trimming, hemming and adding eyelets, all included in the price.

Ohh thanks for the advice! I didn’t have my own artwork but A3M Designs provided me with that at a very good price too. I’d strongly recommend them!

Do you have a connection with this company?

You have promoted them in each of your posts even though they appear to be a retailer and not a trade supplier they do not appear to even supply the subject of this thread of more than two years vintage.
