I know its a little bit of a distance but if you want to put everything in your car and come up to Carlisle a night in the lakes isn't a bad idea and Adam will set everything up for you and go over a lot of things. If that works for you get in touch and we can sort a convenient date for us all.

I hear what you're saying and I know you can't get exact same results with different printing processes but I'm aiming to get the best quality possible.

As everyone else has replied with good general info. I myself first started using the same printer. We are also a photographic & canvas print studio using 8 & 12 inks. You cannot really compare what you are used to with dye-sub printing, as it is an entirely different process.
although you should still be able to get good results regarding colour & sharpness. Your products will be perfectly acceptable. It is a little trial & error & very dependant on a number of factors.

1) you are now using only 4 inks, so your colour gamut is going to be different than printing with 6 or 8 inks.
2) Your press needs to be set correctly for pressure & time & this can ONLY be done by a little trial & error. It won't take long to get it right & don't be too critical of the results.
3) Paper. You need a good quality paper, the trouble is that there are quite a few out there.
4) ICC profiles have to be right, download the correct profiles or make your own.
5) quality of T-shirts & other printables

Here is what we found through trial & error.

We are using Power driver for our profiles & if you are not using this then please download & use it. We found the best paper for us by far is Dye sub magic paper here: (http://www.themagictouch.co.uk/acatalog ... ation.html

T-shirts can be a minefield & there are many experienced people on the forum that can give you advice, but personally, we use Subli Plus shirts from Xpress. Here is the link, https://www.xpres.co.uk/p-8087-sublimat ... xpres.aspx
There are loads of others that you can get them at slightly cheaper, but I can't find the links at the moment as I am not on our shop system.

These are only our personal preference, others who are producing in quantity may have better advice, but we are printing very high resolution, including HDR motorsport professional images on our shirts without any problems whatsoever using what we do.

Thanks Joe - that's great advice and I shall take all on board. I've changed my profile and getting much better results with less saturation and sharper detail in the images, though can't use Powerdiver as I'm using a mac. The test image I was trying to match was a print from my Konica Laser production press which is a CMYK printer, I know I'm never going to match it exactly put I'm now getting a lot closer and a I'm much happier. By the way do you/your business have a website as I would be interested in taking a look?

Let me know what you think. There is still a lot of work to do including products etc... but you should get the feel for them. It's a lot of work, but it's something that's just got to be done
