You need to obtain the correct colour profile from your ink supplier, or have one specially made, otherwise you are just taking stabs in the dark and will end up wasting a lot of time and materials.

All reputable ink suppliers should be able to email you the correct ICC profile for your setup. You really need to get this sorted before even thinking of going into production. Paul, the Moderator, makes ICC profiles for a small fee if you cannot obtain one elsewhere. It's a specialised job requiring special equipment.

the second profile was the Inktec Sublinova profile, for my printer, which I loaded from the CD that came with my ink...
however after loading it, it seemed to disappear....
I tried accessing it via the printer control panel without success previously. as it applied to that specific printer...

however when I was pointed to the document configuration section, I eventually found the setting there, I will have to wait till I am home later to see if it improves matters.

Keep at it Joan, you'll get there eventually! It's always a trial getting everything set up and speaking the same language, but once it's done, it's done, and you can move onto more exciting things.
