If you're getting nothing printing at all, the obvious culprit is the ink. Does it say 'Sublimation' on the bottles/carts? next, is it definitely sublimation paper? Even Epson photo paper will give a half decent print so I'd expect you to get something even though your paper is an unknown quantity here.
Next, heat, is your press getting to the required temp? Approx. 190/200c.
In an effort to save you time searching I can surmise many years of experience, not just my own but as found on the forum here.....Get a quality setup from a recognised supplier, yes it will cost more. You need to be using tried and tested inks at this point in your venture, through a tested printer. The Ricohs are excellent for a new starter but be prepared for more expensive inks (Check out Dye Sub Supplies for SubliSplash)
Buy Trupix paper and you'll never need to change again.
Lastly, join our Premium Membership scheme....no, not a hard sell although the tenner does help running costs thank you very much! Some suppliers give discounts on equipment, you'll get your £10 back many times over very quickly.
That's it in a nutshell. Yes, you can set up cheaply but most tend to come back and spend all over again. Good equipment lasts, it's an investment and will get you up and running quickly and making money if that's what you want to do? Isn't that what we all want?

So if access to discounts, saving money, back up from the suppliers etc etc is treated with disdain I shall not bother any further. I wouldn't want to waste the OPs time after all.

As you've mentioned yourself, better not to respond in a PM! Let's see what we can do to help this noobie (sorry noobbie, I mean OP) and get them up and running quickly.

I did however pass with distinction the "Porcupine Prickly Course"

Hi,
adding to Justin's reply....
Any items printed by sublimation to be made of polyester or have a polyester/polymer coating. So if the stainless steel items you tried printing on did not have the coating you will not get much, if any, print.
If you have tried printing on polyester material and still not had much success, it is either the ink, as Justin suggested, or the press is calibrated for Fahrenheit rather than centigrade. If, when you switch the press on, the temp is around 18-20 it's in centigrade, if 55-70 it's in fahrenheit and you will need to adjust your temperature to the fahrenheit equivalent.

That is the reply i was looking for thank you. It would seem some mods sales patter really needs to be polished.
At least now i can join as a premium member with some knowledge about whats wrong with my setup and search the relevant topics.
As opposed to being told to join up but i cant be bothered to help you further.
It was like me going into currys and saying i have an old 1980s tv but im not getting the pic quality i would like what should i be looking at to be told im not going to help you but join oud premium group and you can look there, so joining but still with no knowledgs but £10 lighter!

Haha, no problem. We were all new once, don't forget that guys! I still ask very basic questions on here, the only daft question is the one we never....yes, we all know that saying.
It's a good point well made though, you have the best possible resource here, everything you could ever need with regards to setting up and the associated issues you'll come into contact with. Starting with good equipment and support will save you so much time and money in the long run.

It seems as though you were the unlucky one with this post. I am not trying to take anyone's side but there are so many people who post the same questions as you with exactly the same set up. It is not your fault but we have all tried to see if there is an easier way for the new starters to get the answers they need without having to post the same old questions.
I know that there is a search bar, did you use it? Did you see it?
As a new user did you think the forum needs maybe a starters page that you are directed to when joining?

My money would be on the stainless steel not having a polymer coating, that's the very first thing I'd explore.

And i think i will do the same.
Im not after pro results i just think aluminium printed with our logo looks better than a sticker on our products.
I did use the search bar but couldnt find a specific answer using the same setup/brands etc as me.
Im going to try it on some sub ready material then look at the results and take it from there.
