Due to the possibility of Ransomware affecting external backup drives, it's also a good idea to back up any vitally important files to reliable cloud storage too.

Good point, I get round that by only connecting the external drives when needed.

we have 8 PC's running a single ssd each (typically 3 staff at a time)- low mid spec each - but collectively v powerful
use for different aspects of our opperation - and we like walking about.
I would struggle using a single pc no matter how well specced

I read last night that Photoshop/ Lightroom barely touches the scratch drive if you have an i7 processor with 16GB/ 32GB RAM so I'll upgrade my specs slightly.
Would an average 'gaming' motherboard have decent enough inbuilt graphics processor to handle a decent monitor? I feel as if I've another whole area of research to do!

Saw Overclockers mentioned. We've been building our own pc's now for about 15 years and have found Aria to be better priced than Overclockers. They often have some very sweet specials too that change daily.
Always worth comparing prices anyhoo.

Got one built by FTS Gaming in the end. Two SSDs, Two HDD 16GB RAM, running really nice.
