If they want to play the 48 hour rule then thats what they deserve.
Hi Earl,

That's a good idea . But no, I haven't ordered from them before, this was my first order! To be honest I don't think I want to chance another order after this.

Consumer legislation doesn't apply to Business to Business transactions.

Broadly speaking, any terms and conditions can be included in B2B agreements. The law takes the view that business people are capable of understanding the implications of any business deal they enter into.
It is only the poor, hard done buy consumer that needs protection from us devious entrepreneurs.

Have you actually spoken to them about the problem? They are likely to help if you just do that. Terms and conditions are just standard about 48hrs so not sure why everyone is getting their knickers in a twist unless I have missed the part where they actually said to the OP you missed the deadline so get lost.

I would post a few images of what you see as the flaws. It seems a lot to have in one box as they are a good supplier in general. I also have bought many mugs from the same sources they get theirs from. I am sure they would gladly help in some way if you let them know the issues. If they do tell you to take a hike and mugs are clearly defected then they would deserve a slagging off.

I'd definitely give them a call, 48-hour limit or not. Some companies will go out of their way to keep their customers happy, and you may have alerted them to an issue they can do something about. which could help them prevent future occurrences.

It's not your job to do everyone's quality control, unfortunately manufacturers expect us to do it these days and hope we don't return them. Who's going to inspect boxes of mugs within 48 hrs?

I collect boxes of defect mugs. I've better things to do with my time and would happily pay an extra 10p per mug for a perfect one every time. Send a photo of the problem or send them back. I always get replacement boxes and ask the supplier to arrange collection, never had any arguments.

I would definitely get in touch with them if more than 75% are faulty. Try giving them a call and sending them some photos as you might have had a bad batch.

I've had a similar experience with some mug supplies i.e. pin holes and uneven spraying and now I usually order from BMS (but only the European 10oz) and more recently Xpres (after BMS had sold out) and I'm happy with both. I occasionally get one or two with a small bump etc but can't remember the last time I've gotten a mug with pin holes from BMS.

Interestingly, I found a pinhole in an Xpres XP5013 mug yesterday. This is the first defect of any sort I've seen in many recent boxes and was still perfectly usable.

I've been through about 10 boxes of Xpres mugs and think there was only 1 with a pinhole - I must say - I do like their mugs :)

I think I jinxed myself :) I just started using a box of the new stock of the 11oz black rim/handle mugs and it's pinholes galore! They're not from BMS or Xpres though.

Apologies, I have been so busy trying to sort the printer out over the past week, I forgot about this thread. Well I emailed the company (twice) and tried calling but it just goes through to voicemail. So I'll never know if it was a faulty batch, or if all of their stock is like that.

I emailed them but as yet haven't had a reply.
