For now I've upgraded my XP laptop with more Memory, and will load progs onto external Hard Drive and run everything (except OS) from there. Thankfully my desktop monitor allows for VGA conections and the laptop also has this. Bit of a PITA to do but needs must for now.

Corel x7 works fine, no problems at all on windows 10

Progs? Most Windows programs expect to run from Drive C:
External drives are ok for holding data, but not usually the main program, unless I've misunderstood your post.

XP is running on C Drive. Other progs are on the external, I've had no trouble in the past running progs from different drives i.e D:, but as this is likely to be a short term solution I can put up with any problems.
