Looking for foam or other solution to prevent transfer paper lines

I tried to get hold of the Vapor Apparel Heat Transfer Foam kit too. Vapor Apparel name The Transfer Press as their UK distributor, but was unable to find it on their website so I messaged them. Their answer was that the foam kit is not distributed in Europe and suggested using their mouse mat foam http://www.thetransferpress.co.uk/mouse ... 2x18004303

Has anyone tried this? My thinking is that this could potentially leave transfer lines too, thus defeating the object!

Would a folded towel or something similar not do the job?

Mags, - you mention the dreaded 'ghost' - always seems random to me, none for 99 items, then one will show a jump and second image shifted a bit ....
We resort to an ultra fast heat press lift/open and a snatch waft of the garment to shake the sub paper off .....
Do you mean that you spray EVERY job with glue? - to keep the paper still ....or to stop sub gas from squeezing under the paper?

I don't do clothing myself but have been told that if you get transfer lines when printing t shirts and caps etc once you remove the transfer use a spray bottle to spray a light mist of water on the area and quickly press again. The steam will remove any lines.

As I say I don't do clothing so you might want to test the method.

This can work with cotton items, they absorb the moisture which raises the weave again but not so with polyester, it's due to the heat shock to the fabric, lower temperature, less pressure and slowing the heat transfer to the garment are the main ways to minimise marks.
