Hi Decca
Read the whole thread mate and you will see that I am getting perfect results using standard paper.
You do need to know what you are doing though so I would not recommend the process for a "novice". You need to fully understand how sublimation works before trying to "cut" corners.
Having said that, there is nothing wrong with you printing out on a sheet of paper (see my recommendation on which paper) and pressing it as stated above. If it works first time then great. If it doesn't work then it is probably best to stick to proper paper until you are in a better position to test etc.
it is worth noting that the times above are for the cheapest inks possible. Sometimes black, sometimes a black made from Cyan, Magenta and Yellow and whatever else I can find. I have used my "proper" sublimation printer with Sawgrass inks and I would need to do more testing to get a black that I am happy with and is as good as the naff ink.

Thanks for the replies, I agree, probably too early to cut too many corners - learn to walk first n run later type of thing, as I said, only 40 prints this time - so savings not really an issue, I am really at the hobby / play end - but will be watching and learning from you guys
Thanks again for your interest and the replies - greatly appreciated, good to know there is such a ready source of experienced guys ready and willing share the knowledge !
