Some Epson cartridges have 2 contacts just above the chip connectors which you short out with a paper clip to reset,it may require to be done more than once,if the cart's are not empty they may need to wait till it shows cartridge not recognized to reset.

Don't know if this helps with what carts are in my printer but on a label written on the printer box was the following.
NEW MATRIX CHIP PROFILE 7.2 (IPC) EPSON NEW CHIP NEW 01/2015,
Ifanyone could help would be very gratefull.

Tony, if you have auto reset carts, did you change the inks when you had a low ink warning? Or did wait for the correct out of ink warning, if you're a bit premature and change on the low in warning, it leads to the carts not to auto reset. keep printing out until you get an out of ink warning telling you to change the cart, then the cart wil recognised, there is a chance, that if you've been swapping the carts in and out, you might have damage the printhead by air being forced through it.

even if there isn't anything being printed on the paper the carts chip may be not registering as empty until you've run it down, so keep printing eventually the chip will run down, if I had this problem I'd try printing blocks of colour and run it out of ink as soon as possible.
