I have only had this problem in a lager oven when I have put too many mugs in.
I resolved the issue by reducing the number of mugs in the oven, if that is not an option then I would suggest longer time.

Thanks for that. I've already been cutting a 'dart' out of the paper to get the images straight on the mug to take into account the taper. HOWEVER...We seem to have found a solution, but don't know why it works! We have found that the mugs are good at 185C for 12 minutes but at the 6 minute mark we're turning the mug around. This gives us a consistent finish. It makes me wonder if there could be a cold spot in the oven, but I don't how this can be in a fan assisted halogen! Anyone any ideas why it's working?
