I'd be very interested to also hear from members who have had their Ricohs installed for a while and know the inks are out of date (dates on boxes people)

If the inks are stored in optimum conditions the inks should last beyond the recommended use-by-date by some margin, especially in the UK where temperatures and humidity don't vary wildly. For a global brand like Sawgrass they have to assume the inks will be used in every region of the world where temperatures and humidity can have an adverse effect if the inks are exposed to these conditions.
By limiting the use-by they are limiting their liability for printer heads/lines blocking through formulation issues or user storage issues.

InkTec are a global brand, manufactured/based in South Korea, and shipping worldwide, and I'm sure the other big ink companies are similar.
Wondering if Sawgrass Industrial inks have better shelf like than Sawgrass Consumer inks?

My ricoh gets used occasionally....inks must be about a year out of date, and it appears to be alright whenever I do use it. The red light flashes, it has been telling me I am low on dyes for a ridiculous amount of prints and the waste ink has been full according to the bar graph for just as long.

I bought a new set of cartridges so long ago...they must be out of date!

Ouch, 2 months is really poor :-( I was surprised how long these inks lasted.

Ok.
So All my ink show full except my yellow. Ordered from Longforte and this is what i got;

now, I already contacted Longforte about this requesting ink with longer date or refund.

But this made me think. If Anyone could approach sawgrass about it would he get anywhere??
What I mean is, As much as i understand that is impossible to always get full 1y on your ink or close to 1y, Ink should be charged for on Pro rata basis. Less shelf life should mean lower price....
Why should I pay same price for ink that only has 3mc shelf life then someone who bought it with 8-12mc? unfair?

Sawgrass would have to do something if enough people were complaining about it, or taking their business to other ink companies who can offer better shelf life.

Well said that man. Isn't it bloody annoying that we're not only beholden to using said inks in small format but we then get such ridiculous short shelf lives? I'm also annoyed that the profiles supplied aren't particularly good either. Having just spent the best part of £3k on an Epson 7890 and stayed faithful to Sawgrass with the inks, I find the profile far from decent. Paul created me a profile and the difference is day and night....why should we have to do this?

You pay a fortune, way over the odds for Sawgrass ink, essentially because they say you have to...
Did you stick with Sawgrass consumer inks, or Sawgrass Industrial (Sublim?) apparently Sawgrass Industrial consider a 24" printer to be wide format
