Re: iPhone aluminium insert problem

Post by deanofire »

Hi there.
I did my first iPhone case with sublimation print to the aluminium insert,
the colours and print seem fine but the surface looks kind of blotchy like it has had cello tape stuck to it and also the places the heat tape was are clearly showing on the printed surface.
any ideas what I did wrong before I try another one ?
thanks

Use very low pressure, what time and temp are you using?

The heat tape has blocked the heat getting to the insert, put the tape on the back of the metal, not the printed side.

Use light to medium pressure..barely touching the metal. Kitchen roll either side of the metal should absorb any moisture/ steam coming out of the metal. Experiment placing the printed transfer side up or down to get the best results.

Did you remove the protective film? We have all done it.
Many thanks
