Interesting to see mug paper being offered ready cut. Only available for 11oz mugs though.

How easy is it to print on this size paper? I believe the Ricohs can do it ok, what about the Epson? Would it do edge to edge or with a border?

I used to take my paper to my mate whoworks for printing shop. thec cut my paper in 11oz mug size and my epson printed it fine.

Never tried borderless on the 1400, will have to look at it again. I'm surprised Transfer Supplies have launched with 100oz mug papers. I read today that 10oz is the preffered size and from what we've discussed on the forum I'd back that up.

Curious cost calculation. I print 3 mugs per sheet (using an 8"x3" template), so each one costs .046p each which is about the same as the .043p of this pre-cut paper. Hardly "half the cost" as stated.

And I'd still have to buy regular A4 and A3 paper for other items anyway. Not really sure that I see the full benefit of this product.

Notice on the email announcement that, at least one of the owners, is originally from Sawgrass - Paul Hirst (who I believe was, before that, from Tropical Graphics who were bought out by Sawgrass after a long legal battle over sublimation ink). I've had dealing with Paul in the past. They launched the VISI-Sub ink (Artainium rebranded) and now have a VISI papers. Personally I don't see this as being a huge market as JSR points out as the numbers don't work out particularly favourably if you're gettting 3 up to an A4 sheet already. Their figures are based on getting 2 up in landscape format. This is just lots of large sheets of paper cut differently in a guillotine. If margins are that tight that you need to worry about a couple of pence on each design of paper cost then we all ought to pack up now!

The main benefit I see of the ready cut papers is if you only need to print one mug. This then saves using a full A4 sheet.

Could always print in the top 1/3 of the paper and then you have 2/3 free for next time...

I don't really get it either. Just cut a standard piece or wait for an order of another mug or two. Don't want to be turning the press on for one mug either.
