I can't remember which thread I posted on, but what I said was that the big refillable cartridges off ebay come with a set of 4 little things that looks like tiny funnels, joined wide end to wide end.
The reason the silicone colour coded bungs are in 2 parts, is that the WIDE one is for refilling and the NARROW one is left OPEN when you use the cartridge.
The cartridges come with 4 little clear double funnel looking things. You put the 4 little clear double funnel looking things in the holes, because they have FILTER MATERIAL inside them to filter out solids from the air.
I've had so many people asking me what those 4 things are, because the leaflet that comes with the cartridges doesn;t mentions them and a lot of people just chuck them out.
Brothers will often clog using pigment ink, but on Dye Sub or ordinary Dye printing inks, it is pretty rare. I sometimes leave my brother 6510 SUB printers for weeks at a time without using them. When I come back, a nozzle check 'might' show a couple of blanks, but often it just prints perfectly. Same model with pigment ink needs cleaning before every print job.
but was talking about refillable INSIDE the machine, NOT the 80ml that stick out....we always used/use the 80ml extra large cart on our 6510's and never had any probs with not printing...
the enclosed ones dont have the filter funnels and thats where we were wondering the printer new 5910 was knackered after just 10 prints !!!....
took out BOTH bungs as pail suggested, wheyhey....PERFECT PRINT....
