Re: 3D Machine

So guys

Is there a relatively cheap (sub £1000) machine available that sublimates phone covers to a decent quality consistently using FILM (sorry, can not be bothered with the evident hassles of paper wrapping :-)).

Ideally am looking for something that does a few at a time but would consider singles.

Needs to be cheap as this is a new venture for me. Client feedback/research says that within a few months I will be looking at the more "serious" mahines like those from Sublideck, but as it is still an unknown I would rather cut my investment to a minimum and give it a try with a cheaper machine.

Any help in pointing me in the right direction would be great.

P.S. Martin, when are yours back in stock?

I'm yet to find one that uses film within that price range and will produce consistant results.

Just found (and am about to go and collect) a secondhand one from a guy an hour away from me. Its the BMS one which he could not get on with. £550 including 4,5 and ipad pucks plus whatever blanks he has.

Scott put me onto this so big nod to BMS for helping out.

I have gone for this machine as it seems to me that the problems with consistency are from inexperience or bad technique. So will give this a go. If however it fails, it will do mugs so it is (another) back up should I need one.

Will let you know how I get on Justin.

Please do Simon, I still hope 3D can start to move forward but as you've already said, it has to be a film application.

Hi Justin

I just printed the first cover. There were no instructions when I purchased so got most of the info from BMS site or from Best Sub You Tube channel. Have to say that I am really impressed with my first attempt. Wrapping was not too difficult and a lot easier than what i was imagining. I think with a bit more practice then 1 cover will be wrapped and ready to go within 20 seconds. Seeing as best results seem to suggest somewhere between 5-9 minutes, you have plenty of time to wrap 8 or 12 covers before the time is up.

So I am actually quite encouraged by it all and I am anticipating rolling out to customers early next week.

Just need to practice the wrapping which I will probably take a day or so to perfect (will not actually print the sheets as I think you can easily tell when it is correct), and then i am away..

Sounds like you're off to a great start Simon :-) Wrapping does seem to be the sticking point with many users.

Hi Simon, do you have any nice pics of a good phone case you have done using the machine, I've been considering one for a while but I'm just not getting the orders to justify one yet, tshirts seems to be my game at the mo,
