Re: Can I print quotes??
The way I see it is like this. If your doing a one off mug for a private order I wouldnt even be asking the question. If you own a little shop or market stall somewhere again I wouldnt be too worried as the chances of trading standards knowing the quote is trademarked is pretty unlikely. If you intend on putting the item on eBay or a website where you have the eyes of the world on you then be very careful. This is an area I am very clued up on and know the risks involved. I doubt the quote you intend on using is copyrighted but theres a government website where you can check such things or you can simply google it. I know from experience 'Float like a Butterfly & sting Like A bee' is trademarked but local trading standards to me wasnt aware till I asked them to enquire for me ( something I havent done for years ) so I dont use it. I got a pull on eBay on 'Simples' when the Meerkat thing was big news and also had problems with a quote I had on a Dr Who clock saying Who Is The Doctor?. I understand and admire you for being honest saying you want to go the legal route so if your not sure, check with your local trading standards as they are their to help and also if you ever run into any sort of legal issues further down the line its always handy to know someone in that office. Hope this helps.

Re: Can I print quotes??
The quote is copyrighted because it is from a film/ book. Wonder Woman is also trademarked.
Any attempt to associate your product with a brand name without their permission is an infringement.
Some companies are more strict than others with Dr Who and Compare the Meerkat being an example because they sell their own branded merchandise which you are competing with.
How visible will your product be to DC Comics? They might never know.
