Hello Everyone :)

I'm Sandy from near Leeds..totally new to this world of printing. Was made redundant nearly 4 weeks ago and rather than just sit at home moaning about it I want to start my own printing business.

My problem is i don't have any of the equipment yet that is required and i don't know where to start. Alot of sites have combo packages but i'm not sure who to go with. also, if i am doing this from home, i am not sure where i can get a good price on materials with out having to buy 5000 shirts.

I was thinking of rather than go out and spend a few hundred pounds on a heat press and printer...I want to test the water and see if there is a demand for my items. I am looking for printer (on-demand) with fulfillment services in the UK for tshirt printing/mugs/iphone cases that is not too expensive and does not cut into profits. I don't want to sell the items at nearly the same price as i bought them...so the cost has to be low please.

I don't want the 'square a4 printed' look on the shirt. I would want to try a small sample order first to gage the quality and service before i commit myself further. I think the DTG is the best?

I have sample images to print onto the shirts in jpeg format. is this o.k?

Is there anyone that can offer me custom iphone/samsung printed using rubber cases at a good price?

Last question is does anyone in the UK sell the printers that print direct onto the iphone case like this below

http://www.phonecaseprinter.com/HCP132408.html

so, my question to you is what do i need to get started? Everything, assuming that i have nothing.

Sorry for asking so many question:wink:

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum Sandy. Lots to learn...and lots to buy! You're in the right place for all the info. and help you could ever need so at least you're on the right track there :-)

CaseiD stock similar machines to those on your link but be ready for a hefty price tag...especially if you're testing the water. Getting items drop shipped to start with may well be an option, I do this for a number of trade customers, you can PM me for more info. if you want to.

Hi Sandy, and welcome to the forum.

There are people here who may be able to help you with products, most importantly the most valuable thing you will get here is education.

I got a wholesale account for clothing (I am new to this - only had the idea early September). This got me thinking though - how difficult is it to get a wholesale account ? I could point to my website but what if you have nothing to prove your not just someone trying to get things at low prices ?

Anyway, there are a few choices with regard to favourite manufacturers but not many - I started with a 5 in 1 press but only use that as a Cap press now, and of course the Mug press from it.. the main heat press is there for a backup, this is the second One I have had and it is as bad as the first. I cant rely on it so am waiting for an Adkins (Should be abe to pay for that tomorrow when xPress have more stock in).. :) Excited.
My website is open: www.Linksrepairshop.co.uk

Using FlexiStarter 10 and a Liyu SC631e & a Silhouette Cameo cutter. 2x Ricoh SG3110dn printers and Adkins Auto Clam press. Using Sublijet-r from Sawgrass.
..And I have gotten my money's worth out of this forum - saved Hundreds by being a Premium Member

Hi Sandy, good luck - sorry to hear about your job. This happened to me too and I have managed to keep going for 7 years so far since...
