epson sub printing prob

im pulling my hair out here.
I have 160 coasters to do for a wedding, am using epson sx435w
not had it that long and not had these probs before.

My design is black but its printing in a maroon colour, yes when i run the nozzle check it prints the black writing fine?? the cyan however does indicate its clogged, but have ran
the clean head facility several times and stilll the same.

Any ideas anyone

Firstly check that you are printing the black as a black and not as a mix of RGB (or similar).

What program are you printing from?

The Cyan head block will be causing you problems depending on how clogged it is. Do you have a nozzle check that you could post?

I think the Cyan head is going to cause you a major problem with this but that is as far as I can advise because I do not know anything about Epson's (sorry I am a Ricoh man). However there MIGHT be a work around.

The file you are printing from. Check the colour breakdown of the black. Change the colour range to be CMYK and then make sure the text you are printing is 100% Black and not a mix of CMYK.

The other thing you could try depending on what software you are using is printing the file as a greyscale or as black and white (assuming there is no colour anywhere). That should mean the only head that is used is the black which is operating as it should.

Hi! dont do any more head cleans as it can damage your printer. you better off ordering cleaning solution.

Are you sure that it is actually a blocked head, and not a flow problem from your CISS or cartridges?

Init funny how its always the cyan .....
Problem is cyan is more prone to blockages i was plauged by them using an epson 1400. If you havnt cleared it after a few head cleans then you have problems. Cleaning fluid may halp but personally ive had limited sucess , try the original carts if you get a good nozzle check then you know its not the printer. Chances are you will need a new cart assembly assuming you are using a ciss or worse still a new ink tank set. I suppose you could try drawing the ink through (priming) by using a syringe and needle in the bung on top of your cyan cart

I dont know if its a blocked head, how do i tell, definently running the head cleaning is not working.
I just using refillable catridges, thats what ive always used, not had this prob before.

I have ordered a complete new set of refillable cartridges, and am keeping fingers crossed this works.

any other suggestions welcome x

thats whyi suggested priming the cart as this would remove air bubbles
You can tell if its a blocked head by putting the original carts in and running a nozzle check as i said in my above post. If the nozzle check is ok with original carts installed thenitz not a blocked head
