vaguely thinking about adding a fairly basic laser engravor to the workshop mix, primarily to put logos onto wood but interested to explore what you can create with one.
anyone have any experience or knowledge of them?

Re: anyone know about desktop/cheaper laser engravors?
Yes, they dont exist.
The words cheap and laser dont go together. It is possible to get a chinese thing for a few hundred, poor build quality, poor quality control circuits and laser parts. For a known brand of desktop laser they start at about £8,000 and go on up from there. There are some lovely packages out there but they are stupidly expensive.

Thanks smo - i was also looking into this as fancied laying around with engravers. Seen a few chinese ones on eBay for around the £1,000 mark & thought about taking a punt but have resisted as couldn't be sure of the worth
